AMC theaters launching $20 monthly pass for serious movie lovers

bez-imeni-1

When it comes to how we watch movies, there’s no denying streaming services pretty much changed the game. Not only are the monthly fees likely cheaper than a single trip to the theater, but you have access to hundreds of films with the click of a button. You can also eat whatever snacks you want, which, who am I kidding, is mostly my favorite part of watching movies.

For some movie lovers, however, streaming just doesn’t cut it. Watching on a TV, no matter how big it is, doesn’t even come close to the experience of a theater. If you find yourself at the cinema often, AMC Theaters’ latest announcement might just be the thing for you.
1
Beginning June 26, AMC Theaters will begin offering AMC Stubs A-List, a reward program that allows filmgoers to see up to three movies per week for $19.95 per month. All AMC locations are included, along with all formats of movies, including Imax and RealD 3D.

Other benefits of the subscription include free upgrades on popcorn and soda, free refills on large popcorn, express service at the box office and concession stand, no online ticketing fees and 100 points for every $1 spent for the monthly fee and on food and beverages purchased at the theater.

If you don’t have an AMC Theater near you, or think $20 a month is too much for movie tickets, subscription service MoviePass is essentially the same thing as AMC’s program — and it’s a bit cheaper.

While you won’t get extras like free popcorn refills, for $9.95 a month you can see a movie every day (!!!) at a theater near you, or choose the chance to see three new movies every month for $7.95. It should also be noted that movies with MoviePass are standard, 2D films, so IMAX and 3D movies are not included.

It’s a pretty great time to be a movie junkie!

Is a cinema subscription service something you’d think of paying for?
